agilebrit: (OMNOMNOM)

So, you know, Iron Man 2 is coming out in a week.

I feel like a Bad Mommy. We've got a midnight showing. And I seriously considered (a) leaving my nine-year-old child alone while I go see it, or (b) waking him up and taking him with me. Neither of which is a viable option. But GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaah.

However, Robert's been doing interviews and photoshoots and whatnot, and he's in this month's Rolling Stone looking OMGSOHAWT. And in honor of that, I come bearing wallpaper. Also, a new OMNOMNOM icon. I debated putting text on it and decided that it speaks for itself, really.

The lyric is from "Broken" by RDJ.

Why does everyone hate on ScarJo? I think she's cute.

Those of us who have been fortunate enough to find The Woman, know we've got a good thing going on. Looks like Robert has found his. Admit it, ladies, you dig him partially because he digs HER!! (grin)

No, dude, have you SEEN his wife? This is an adorable publicity photoshoot, to be sure, but Susan Downey has it all over ScarJo and they clearly adore each other.

I present photographic proof:

Ah, no, I had not seen her. This is a much better photo. MUCH better. Hang on to her, Mr. Downey. Hang on tight.

If you do a google image search of "robert susan downey" you can see various paparazzi and red carpet shots of them. They were clearly made for each other.

On "Inside the Actors Studio," James Lipton asked Susan what she thought of Robert the first time she met him (on the set of Gothika, which she produced), and she said "Oh, I thought he was weird." "And when did you stop thinking he was weird?" "Oh, I still think he's weird." Cue everyone, including Robert, cracking up. BECAUSE IT'S TRUE. And she loves him for it.

- The confusion is understandable: Divorce proceedings have sprung from photos such as you posted. Of course, they're both actors (I don't know about Susan Downey), so obviously some serious slack is being cut.

Susan is a producer and understands the biz thoroughly--they met on the set of "Gothika," which she produced.

What's interesting is that I don't remember Robert and Gwyneth doing any similar photoshoots for the first Iron Man movie, and Tony/Pepper is building up to be the (eventual) relationship in the films.

The [livejournal.com profile] tonypepper comm had a collective hissy fit over this photoshoot. *points and laughs*

I certainly don't mind her, but when I passed on the rumor I'd heard - that she was being considered to play Marilyn Monroe in a new biopic - [livejournal.com profile] 1962 boiled over. Apparently she's ghastly. Well, I'll admit that her versatility may be somewhat limited - though who knows; Charlize Theron startled critics with her portrayal of that thoroughly un-Hollywood-looking serial killer, and ScarJo might do the same one day.

My biggest complaint with her as an actress is that you can never forget whom you're really looking at - but that's true of many cinema greats. (Rex Harrison was always 'Rex Harrison as -' - he never lost himself in the role.)

True, but I still love him.

Well...I take it back. It's not true. The Ghost in the Ghost and Mrs. Muir is really nothing like Henry Higgins.

Look up your state's babysitting laws. In VA, we can leave an eight year old for an hour and a half, but for some reason, not at night...even though you think when they were sleeping would be ideal.

[identity profile] agilebrit.livejournal.com 2010-04-30 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, this would be at least three hours between 11:30pm and 3am, and, legal or not, I'm not comfortable with leaving him home alone for that long at that hour. There's what's Legal and what's Right, and I wouldn't feel Right if I did that. Besides, I'd just be worrying the whole time, so... yeah.

Oh well. I've told the Hubby I want to see it in IMAX for Mother's Day. It's worth the wait for that.

[identity profile] dragonflymuse.livejournal.com 2010-04-30 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I hope you get to see your movie tonite! Get thee a babysitter STAT!

[identity profile] agilebrit.livejournal.com 2010-04-30 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it's next week, actually, but finding a babysitter for a midnight movie on a school night...isn't happening. But I told the Hubby I want to see it in IMAX for Mother's Day, which will totally be worth the wait (we'll probably go on Monday just to avoid the crowds because we're practical that way). I just hope I can avoid spoilers, but my flist is pretty good about stuff like that.

OH HAI THERE. LOOKIN ALL DIRTY AND MECHANIC-LIKE. sdjlfasd;

and I'm not a fan of her, but the pics with The Downey are adorable. ^___^

[identity profile] agilebrit.livejournal.com 2010-04-30 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually feel some affection for her because of the collective hissy fit the folks at [livejournal.com profile] tonypepper are having. It's a beautiful thing.

And, yeah, way to push all my buttons, Rolling Stone. Good GOD.

I am not above a bit of shipping schadenfreude, nope. ;)
