Susan is a producer and understands the biz thoroughly--they met on the set of "Gothika," which she produced.
What's interesting is that I don't remember Robert and Gwyneth doing any similar photoshoots for the first Iron Man movie, and Tony/Pepper is building up to be the (eventual) relationship in the films.
The tonypepper comm had a collective hissy fit over this photoshoot. *points and laughs*
