We got here on the 12th, and have had a marvelous with the various family members. Yay!

My stupid back promptly went out the day after we arrived and I slept in the hotel bed. Not so yay. I've been popping ibuprofen like candy, which probably isn't good for me, and isn't actually doing much to alleviate the pain (that I know of), but anti-inflammatories FTW, y'know?

My copies of Renard's Menagerie have all been distributed. I need about ten more. AUGH. I may order them five at a time, because, DUDE. Erm, if any one of you wants me to autograph one (yeah, right *snerk*), drop me a line and I'll give you my address to send it to. *crickets chirp*

We're visiting the Dallas World Aquarium tomorrow. I LOVE TOUCANS. Hopefully the walking will do my back some good. Flying home on Wednesday, and then back out again, to Colorado to visit the HubbyMom, the next day.

There's no possible way I'm going to catch up with my flist. I've seen on the news that Dan Fogelberg died *cries* and Joe Lieberman endorsed John McCain *gigglesnorts*. I got a little writing done on the plane...and now my laptop battery is deader than the proverbial doornail.

And that's all the news from here. How are y'all doing?

Oh, I love it here; went to most of high school in Lampasas and graduated from West Texas State University (back before it merged with A&M). The weather's a little cooler than we'd like, but it's probably warmer than Utah. :)

There is no way on Earth I will ever vote for John McCain. The First Amendment is all about protecting political speech, and McCain-Feingold is all about abridgin political speech. So, no way ever.

That being said, as K says, it's more interesting for Democrats than for Republicans, who, after years of press bias, of plants and clearly hostile moderators, should be sick and tired of having Democrats tell them what to think. But here's a solid Democrat, the VP candidate of the last election, who finds nobody in the large Democratic field of candidates who is remotely supportable. That's gigglesnorts all the way.

In conclusion, feel better.

Oh, no way in HELL would McCain ever get my vote. The Constitution is so much toilet paper to him. But the fact that Lieberman is so far off the Dem reservation on this is what has me giggling madly and wishing the GOP leadership in the Senate might do a little wooing. I also love how the Dems trying to get rid of Lieberman in the CT primary blew up in their faces so spectacularly.

Sorry to hear about your back. Is it just something you have to wait out?

I'm hoping to get you to autograph my copy at the next WriterCon. If that's not happening I'll mail it to you.
